Borce Ristevski has been sentenced to a maximum of nine years prison for killing his wife Karen.
Ristevski, 55, made a surprise guilty plea last month to manslaughter, nearly three years after Karen’s death in June 2016.
The father displayed no emotion as he was sentenced the maximum prison term of nine years at Melbourne’s Supreme Court on Thursday, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
He has not yet told police of his motivation behind killing Karen, 47, who was his wife of 27 years.
Karen disappeared from her Avondale Heights home on June 29, 2016 and her body was discovered eight months later on February 20, 2017 in bushland.
Ristevski was committed to stand trial for murder over the death of his wife Karen in August last year.
On the eve of the trial last month, he agreed to enter a guilty plea to the lesser charge of manslaughter.
With time already served, Ristevski could be free before his 60th birthday.
