An Australian student has died during a jetski crash with her boyfriend while on holiday in Thailand.
Emily Jayne Collie, 20, from Kyabram in regional Victoria, was at Kata Beach in Phuket when she collided with her partner, Tommy, yesterday.
While lifeguards desperately performed CPR, Emily was pronounced dead when she reached Chalong Hospital. She had suffered serious injuries to her neck and shoulders.
Tommy, who withheld his full name, said strong sunlight reflecting off the water had made it impossible to his girlfriend’s her jet-ski, according to The Bangkok Post.
He suffered minor injuries.
Friends and family have already started to pay tribute to student, saying she was a ‘beautiful and strong girl’.
