Amy Krouse Rosenthal wrote over 30 books in her lifetime, including loved children’s books, and a best-selling memoir. She also made short films on YouTube and was a well-known public speaker.

But even if you didn’t know these things, you might be familiar with her later work – specifically an essay she wrote, titled ‘You May Want to Marry my Husband’ to her hubby’s future dates, explaining why he is the best man in the world and giving her blessing that he find love after she goes.

Here is the kind of man Jason is: He showed up at our first pregnancy ultrasound with flowers. This is a man who, because he is always up early, surprises me every Sunday morning by making some kind of oddball smiley face out of items near the coffeepot: a spoon, a mug, a banana.’

Amy was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2015, and battled the disease ever since.

Tributes are pouring in for the author, who is famous for her gentle soul and personal warmth.
