Aldi issues major product recall

Aldi has been forced to recall a brand of nuts from its shelves because the packet forgot to mention it contains nuts.

The popular supermarket chain recalled its Clancy Barbeque Flavour Coated Peanuts because they contain cashew nuts which was not warned on the label.

This means the product is a ‘health risk’ for anyone with an allergy to nuts, according to the Foods Standards Agency (FSA).

The German budget supermarket has told customers with an allergy to cashew nuts who bought the snack not to eat it, but return it to the store for a refund.

A statement from the FSA with an ‘allergy alert’ said, ‘Aldi has recalled its Clancy’s Barbecue Flavour Coated Peanuts because they contain cashew nuts, which are undeclared on the label.

‘This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to nuts.’

Anyone with the product can return it to their closest Aldi store for a full refund.
