Married couple Aaron and Daniella know exactly what they’ll be spending the first chunk of their $200,000 prize money on – security for their Gold Coast home.
According to the parents of Jaxon, three, and Brooklyn, one, fans of the show regularly drop around to their newly renovated home unexpectedly with some even asking for personalised tours.
‘We’re going to put a bit more privacy in the front of the house because we get a lot of stalkers that drive by,’ Daniella, 38, tells New Idea.
‘It’s so lovely but I want to protect my children, keep them out of the limelight as much as possible. They’ll pull into the driveway and take a photo…they even ask to come into the house!’
While Aaron and Daniella are concerned about their children’s privacy, they admit it’s ‘lovely’ to meet the fans.
‘Everyone who does come over goes out of their way to be just lovely,’ Aaron, 31, says.
‘They just want to say hello and give us a hug.’
As well as some small changes to their house, Aaron and Daniella say they’ve got big plans for their prize money, including flying runners up and close friends Kate, 28, Harry, 32, and their two-year-old son Xavier to Queensland for a holiday.
‘Our hearts go out to them,’ Daniella explains.
‘We are going to fly them to the Gold Coast for the holiday of a lifetime.
‘It’s something that we want to do for them.’
‘We know that Xav and Jaxon love playing together so we can all catch up and reminisce.’
But for now, the winners plan to take a few weeks off work to plan what they want to do next.
‘We want to see where this is going to take us,’ Aaron says.
‘To be on TV would be just fantastic. I’ve taken a real liking to radio as well.’
