A three-year-old girl is in a critical condition after allegedly being sexually assaulted and tortured by her mother’s boyfriend.
The horrifying attack took place on Thursday after the little girl was left in the company of the unnamed 25-year-old man from Queensland, Capalaba.
According to the Courier Mail, after her mother returned home, the toddler was rushed to hospital with what are believed to be critical internal and external injuries to her head, arms and legs.
Hospital staff were said to have alerted the police immediately upon seeing the girl’s injuries.
‘She is a cute little muffin that didn’t deserve this,’ a neighbor reported.
‘The mother obviously cares for the little girl. She looked well cared for, well looked after, beautiful manners. A darling little girl.’
The man has been charged with nine offences including torture, grievous bodily harm, sexual assault and leaving a child under 12 unattended.
He is also charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, breach of a domestic violence order and drug offences.
The girl remains in Brisbane hospital in a serious condition.
