After Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot in May 2018, it was understood the new couple would live in the grounds of Kensington Palace.
The Duchess of Sussex immediately moved into Nottingham Cottage in London to be close to the royal family.
The cottage had served as Prince Harry’s bachelor pad when he was single. The cosy little cottage resides on the grounds of the sweeping royal estate Kensington Palace.
Nottingham Cottage was previously home to Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge and his wife Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge.
After having children, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge then moved into a 21-room apartment inside the palace.
The humble abode consists of two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom.
It is the same place where Harry proposed to his bride over a home-cooked dinner of roast chicken in November of 2017.
But where do Prince Harry and Meghan Markle live now?
Nottingham Cottage was considered a modest home for the newlyweds so once they welcomed their first child Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, they re-located to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, Berkshire, where they live day to day.
Frogmore Cottage is a Grade II listed private residence in the grounds of Frogmore House, where the couple held their wedding reception. Built in 1801, it was a retreat for Queen Charlotte and her unmarried daughters.
In 2019 it was renovated at a cost of $4.3 million and turned into a four-bedroom abode with a nursery for baby Archie. The renovation was controversial as it was covered by the Queen’s annual Sovereign Grant which is British tax payer funded.
The royal couple redecorated their new home entirely, choosing to refurbish the exterior doors, windows and walls, as well as re-landscaping the garden.
They also had a new fitted kitchen and bathroom.
Meghan was born in Los Angeles, America and moved to Canada to film her hit show, Suits, which she left after being linked to Prince Harry. The pair met in July 2016 and rumours started swirling in November 2016 that they were an item.
By February 2017 the loved up pair knew that wanted to be together forever and Meghan moved from her home in Toronto, Canada, to live with Harry in Nottingham Cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace.
Kensington Palace, located next to London’s Hyde Park, is home to 15 royals, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank.
Princess Diana called Kensington Palace her home from the day she married Prince Charles in 1981 to the day she sadly died in 1997.
The Duke of Gloucester, one of Queen Elizabeth II’s cousins, also lives in an apartment in Kensington Palace with the Duchess of Gloucester, his wife.
The Queen and her husband Prince Philip live in quarters in Buckingham Palace.
