A toddler has been found dead inside a van in Florida, U.S.
The boy, identified as Noah Sneed, was discovered on Monday (29 July) on a day where temperatures had peaked at 33C.
According to WSVN, the two-year-old boy had been found in the vehicle, which was parked outside a childcare centre caked Ceressa’s Enrichment and Empowerment Academy.
Police and fire rescue services arrived at the Oakland Park daycare around 3.20pm.
It is not yet known how long the boy had been in the van.
Police are currently interviewing employees and carrying out investigations.
Keyla Concepcion, a spokesperson for Broward Sherriff’s Office told WSVN, ‘You would think that any facility that deals with children – especially young children – would have some kind of checks and balances or some kind of system.’
‘These tragedies continue to happen, so we expect – or hope – that facilities who deal with children have checks and balances or some kind of system in place to prevent these incidents from occurring,’ she added.
Just last week, twin babies were found dead in a New York car after they were left in a car for eight hours.
A GoFundMe page has been set up by a friend of the Sneed family to cover funeral expenses.
It described Noah’s mother, Chanese Sneed, as being ‘devastated’, writing, ‘His mother loved him so much and this has taken a toll of her emotionally.’
