A Queensland mother has spoken out after her eight-year-old daughter attempted suicide because of relentless bullying by fellow classmates about her cancer survival.

Richelle, from Brisbane, revealed to Yahoo7 the horrifying moment her eldest child tried taking her own life after being targeted by other kids at school.

She revealed, ‘She came to us stating that she wanted to end her own life due to the bullies always winning.’

The mother, a breast cancer survivor, revealed she was the reason her daughter was being bullied, as fellow students poked fun of her double mastectomy and resulting hair loss from chemotherapy.

After Richelle’s breast cancer diagnosis in 2016, one child in her young daughter’s class began taunting her child relentlessly.

‘She told my daughter that her mum wasn’t a woman because she didn’t have hair or breasts and that she would turn out the same as me,’ Richelle said.

Richelle’s daughter was born with a cleft lip and a deformity to one eye which she says prompted other children to comment on her appearance her whole life. Her biological father committed suicide when she was just nine-months-old.

Richelle describes her daughter as the ‘nicest kid.’

Richelle claims she has reported the bullying to her daughter’s school but it has been ‘swept under the carpet.’

She also claims the bully has been rewarded a place in a coveted after school class, despite teachers being aware of the incidents.

Richelle’s daughter was taken to Logan Hospital after her failed suicide attempt and was treated by psychiatrists.

This desperate mother’s call for help comes just weeks after the news of Dolly Everett, a fourteen-year-old girl who committed suicide after being relentlessly bullied online, swept the nation.
