Hair experts claim Prince Harry’s bald patch has doubled in size since becoming a father.
The Duke of Sussex welcomed his first child Archie Harrison only days ago – but Transplant surgeon Dr Asim Shahmalak says it has already taken a toll on his hair.
Dr Shahmalak told The Sun Prince Harry, 34, is following in the footsteps of his balding brother Prince William, 37.
He pointed out that the Duke of Sussex has noticeably thinner hair than he did during his wedding to Meghan Markle only last year.
‘Fatherhood has definitely not been kind to Prince Harry’s hair. You can see a definite acceleration in his male pattern baldness in the last few months,’ he said.
‘Stress is a factor in hair loss so the struggles of combining his royal duties with marriage and becoming a father for the first time maybe a reason why his hair is thinning noticeably across the top of his scalp.’
Dr Shahmalak also pointed out there is a ‘strong’ baldness gene which runs through the Mountbatten-Windsor family.
‘It started with Prince Philip and has now been passed down to Prince Charles and on to his sons Prince William and Prince Harry,’ he added.
Prince Harry has fortunately enjoyed thicker hair than his older brother, Wills.
The royal was even known for poking fun at William’s thinning crown, after the Duke of Cambridge started losing his hair in his 20s.
‘I think he definitely is brainier than I am, but we established that at school, along with his baldness,’ Harry once said about William.
William recently shaved his hair and debuted a buzz cut last year in a bid to salvage his balding head.
Both Prince Harry and William appear to have inherited their father Prince Charles’ balding gene.
During his recent tour to New Zealand, a fan reportedly told Harry ‘you look just like your father’ to which Harry replied: ‘I’m losing my hair like him too’.
