A royal public relations blunder accidentally saw baby Archie named as the son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Only hours after Archie Harrison was welcomed into the world, the palace posted the inaccurate statement on the official royal website.

‘Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born at 05:26 on Monday 6th May. He is the first child of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and is seventh in line to the throne,’ the statement on royal.uk read.

While it was quickly fixed, eagle-eyed royal fans were fast to point out that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were royally snubbed in the birth announcement.

The embarrassing mistake reportedly left Kate ‘in tears’, as the Duchess is already facing animosity with her ‘difficult’ sister-in-law Meghan.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s visit to Meghan and Harry to meet baby Archie also allegedly ended in tears.

Meghan’s harsh demands – including banning Will and Kate from holding the royal baby – proved too much for the delicate Duchess.

The Duchess of Sussex also reportedly refused to let Will and Kate’s three children George, Charlotte and Louis from meeting Archie until he is three months old.
