Queen Elizabeth II has agreed to stop driving altogether, two months after the Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a horror crash.
The 92-year-old is the only person in the UK who can drive without a license – but the Monarch has agreed to avoid getting behind the wheel from now on.
According to the Sunday Times, Her Majesty is acting upon advice of her security team following Prince Philip’s accident in his Range Rover in January.
Prince Philip gave up his license not long after the crash, following a public outcry.
The Queen, who will turn 93 in April, is understood to have agreed to stop driving on public roads.
She will instead be chauffeured by staff drivers while on public roads – but may still drive herself in private roads.
Her Majesty has a history of getting behind the wheel – even being spotted driving without a seatbelt the day after Prince Philip’s crash.
The crash occurred on January 17 this year when Prince Philip’s Land Rover rolled after he hit a Kia.
The royal luckily escaped without injury, but British woman Emma Fairweather, 46, broke her wrist.
Ms Fairweather called for Prince Philip to be prosecuted if he was found to be at fault, however no charges were laid.
