The Duke of Edinburgh has finally agreed to give up his driving license after the horror crash which saw him roll his Land Rover.
Prince Philip, 97, ‘voluntarily’ surrendered his license following ‘careful consideration’, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace.
It comes a month after Prince Philip overturned his car near the royal residence in Norfolk, after reportedly being ‘dazzled’ by the sun.
Three other people were in the other vehicle, including a nine-month-old baby.
Passenger Emma Fairweather, 46, broke her wrist in the crash and was outspoken about her anger towards the royals.
Norfolk Police passed on the crash file to prosecutors, however it is unlikely Prince Philip will face any charges.
‘What would be the point in prosecuting a 97-year-old man who has dedicated the majority of his life to public service and who has already given up his licence?’ lawyer Nick Freeman told the Daily Telegraph UK.
