Patricia had returned home to her room at around 12.30pm at The Huon Park retirement village in North Turramurra where she was met with a strange man.

Police said the man assaulted her before fleeing on foot out her front door, labelling the attack as ‘appalling and cowardly’.

Patricia was then rushed to the Sydney Adventist Hospital where she is receiving treatment for injuries to her face, chest and arms.

On Tuesday detectives searched the area surrounding the nursing home and spoke to neighbours. They are now calling on the public for assistance in tracking down the perpetrator responsible.
