Tributes had been paid to a young mum-of-three who has died two weeks after getting the flu.

Jacinta Foulds, from Toowoomba, Queensland, was reportedly in her 30s. She passed away after contracting a secondary infection and pneumonia.

Ms Foulds’ friends and family have flooded Facebook with tributes to the popular mum, who ran a nail art business.

Her devastated husband Daniel wrote, ‘My world has been rocked tonight. I said goodbye to my best friend and soulmate, taken from me way too soon.’

He said Ms Foulds had ‘fought hard’ against her illness but had tragically passed away last night.

More than $5,000 has been raised by a GoFundMe campaign set up in her memory to support her grieving family.

In May, experts predicted more than 4,000 Australians would lose their lives to influenza this year. So far, it’s believed at least 380 people have died of influenza-related illnesses.
