A woman has been charged with murder after police said her drug use during pregnancy, led to her twins’ deaths.
Tiffany Marie Roberts from Tennessee, United States, gave birth to the babies at just 23 weeks.
The 29-year-old woman had been using drugs throughout her pregnancy and on the day of July 21, when she experiencing shortness of breath.
ABC 9 reported that she went to TC Thompson Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga where doctors had to perform an emergency delivery.
Both bubs were born premature and tested positive for ‘several narcotics,’ including cocaine.
They died two days later, just nine hours apart.
Roberts also tested positive for illegal drugs during her pregnancy check-ups on different dates.
She was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and viable fetus as a victim.
