Police are looking for the baby’s mother
Police are looking for the mum of a one-day-old baby boy who was found abandoned outside an apartment.
The woman left a heartbreaking note explaining that she’d given birth in a bathroom and that she and her son where the victims of domestic violence.
His dad tried to kill us, the hand-written letter on a scrap of paper read. Please keep him secret and take him to hospital. Dad a very dangerous man. I’m so sorry, I tried to clean him and feed him as much as I (could).
The baby was left on the doorstep of a high-end apartment in Orlando, Florida, at around 10am on Saturday July 20 and was found by resident Althea Brown.
It was reported by the Orlando Sentinel that the baby’s cries alerted her as she was making breakfast.
Police said they were keen to trace his mother, but said that because the baby was not dropped off at a hospital or fire station she could be guilty of child neglect. The baby was wrapped in a T-shirt and in ‘good health’.
