Boy accidentally killed by his dad during rabbit hunting trip

So tragic

A nine-year-old boy has tragically died after a fatal accident during a rabbit hunting trip with his dad.

Brian Williams had taken his son Colton for a special Thanksgiving hunt when he accidentally shot and killed his son.

Photos of the family from South Carolina show that the pair regularly enjoyed hunting trips together, with Colton described as the ‘brightest light’ in their lives.

Posting an emotional tribute his his Facebook page, Colton’s grandfather Vince Furtick wrote ‘God has Colton in his arms now and we truly miss him but rest in the knowledge that we will see him again one day’.

‘Life goes on and in Colton’s case, three lives were saved by his donated kidneys and liver,’ he added.

A GoFundMe page which was set up to assist the family with funeral costs exceeded its goal of $10,500.

With the total currently sitting at $17,000, it’s understood that any extra donations will be given to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Take One Make One program, which allows underprivileged children to learn how to hunt.

‘Colton would have loved this idea,’ his grandfather wrote.
