The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed Meghan had given birth at 5:26am BST on May 6, 2019.

Their little royal bundle of joy weighed 3lbs and 3oz and arrived safely and is doing ‘incredibly well’.

Meghan and Harry confirmed they are still thinking of names for their son.

A beaming Prince Harry greeted media and broke tradition by delivering a speech about the birth of his son outside Windsor Castle.

‘As every father and parent will ever say, you know, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to-die-for, so I’m just over the moon,’ Harry said.

‘It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension.’

Prince Harry also said he was ‘incredibly proud’ of his wife.

Speaking after the birth, the Duke said his child was ‘a little overdue’ and that another announcement would be made soon so ‘everyone can see the baby’.

A framed notice of birth is currently on display just outside Buckingham Palace, where it will remain until 8pm on Monday.

‘The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news,’ the statement read.
