Ingredients
- 6 continental frankfurters
- 1 tblsp olive oil
- 6 soft hot dog rolls
- Sliced dill cucumbers and tomato sauce, to serve
CARAMELISED ONIONS
- 1 tblsp olive oil
- 3 small onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tblsps brown sugar
SPICY MUSTARD
- ½ cup American mustard
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp dried chilli flakes
Method

To make caramelised onions, heat oil in a large frying pan over a medium heat. Add onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 20 minutes, or until softened. Add sugar. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, or until caramelised. Transfer to a bowl.

Meanwhile, toss frankfurters in oil in a medium bowl.

Heat a grill plate over a medium to high heat. Add frankfurters. Cook, turning occasionally, for about 8 minutes, or until heated through.

To make spicy mustard, combine mustard, paprika and chilli in a small bowl.

To serve, split rolls lengthways down the centre. Fill rolls with frankfurters, dill cucumbers and caramelised onions. Drizzle with tomato sauce and spicy mustard.
