Mum who live-streamed her girl’s birth officially changes her name TWO weeks later

Sophie Cachia, also known as the Young Mummy, has made a business of sharing her journey through motherhood - warts and all.

Following the mum-of-two’s controversial decision to live-stream her 20-hour labour and birth of her daughter, she admits she was struck by doubt that ‘Betty’ was the right name for her.

THANK YOU! Can you believe that I've just had my second shower for the day, I even washed my hair AND I had clean undies on (for most of the day anyway). Hey, I even cooked dinner for 5! I'm totally nailing this two-kid gig yeah? 😂 But really, I need to send a ginormous-equivalent-to-the-current-size-of-my-boobs thank you for all the comments/messages/emails and flood of support you've show us since Miss Betty's arrival into the world. And especially surrounding my labour snapchat - who says there's never anything positive to come out of social media!?! I wish we could have gone more but shit well and truly hit the fan within a matter of 2 hours so it physically wasn't possible, nor would Jaryd have left my side even if I asked him. To the @theroyalwomens and most notably Elise from the assessment centre & Joanna the gorgeous midwife who helped me deliver my baby girl - you've both left such an impression on Jaryd & I and we thank you soooo much for your professionalism, support, guidance & overall gorgeous natures that helped keep me at ease (sort of 😝). We honestly couldn't have had two better people on the day! To my mumma bear who got the call up to come in after 4 failed epidural attempts at full dilation. Well.. because at the end of the day, I'll always need my mum. What an amazing experience having my mum down the deep end watching her little baby girl deliver her first little baby girl. And my superstar student midwife who came on my pregnancy journey - Marnie - know you helped me a billion times more than I've helped you! A day that goes down as not only the absolute worst of my life but the BEST, confirms the following: that I can 100% vehemently say that I will never ever ever do that again 😂👶🏻 Now I have a DAUGHTER. Now, two weeks later, in a post on instagram the mum shares how just as she had come to terms with the name, her husband revealed he also had doubts.

‘Something about her chubby cheeks not suiting it and the feel just wasn’t right’, explains Sophie on Instagram.

The new name? Florence (which her two-year-old son has already abbreviated to Flossy).

Her fans were sympathetic - some even saying they’d also experienced name jitters and changed their babies names.
