Taking to the Justice 4 Tiahleigh Facebook group last month, Tiahleigh’s biological mother Cyndi, revealed she was left ‘broken’ after discovering that the foster brother who molested the 12-year-old before her brutal death had attended a children’s dance event that Tiahleigh would likely have attended had she not been murdered.
Trent and Joshua Thorburn, who covered up the murder committed by their father, Rick, were seen in the crowd at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
‘Thy can change their hairstyles but they can't change their evil faces,’ Cyndi wrote on Facebook, following the shock discovery.
Now, the heartbroken mum has revealed the ‘judgement’ she has received on social media.
‘Still a lot of judgement on the posts, but as I've always said. This isn't about me or what I did or didn't do!’ the mum wrote.
‘This is about protecting other young children!!! The time for crucifying me has been and gone, now we learn and do what we can to stop it happening again!!
‘Not one single person stood up and said hey get out of here so of course being that it happened to my daughter I'm going to,’ Cyndi continued.
‘There is no way I would want any other family to go through the hell that I have been through!’
Previously, Cyndi shared her fury that Trent – who molested Tiahleigh and served 16 months of a four-year jail sentence for incest, perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice - and Joshua – who served three months for perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice - were ‘out and about enjoying their lives as if nothing has happened’.
‘I knew once court was over and they were out of jail this would happen but seeing it and how they just have blended back into society has literally broken me !!!!’ she wrote.
Rick Thorburn killed the young girl after learning that Trent had molested her and fearing she had fallen pregnant.
