One 12-year-old boy got the shock of his life as he sat in his maths class last week.

His mum, Becky Crandley, from the UK, walked into the classroom at The Sittingbourne School and sat down next to him.

She took the drastic action after his teachers reported concerns about the year eight student's behaviour.

When his attitude didn't improve after she threatened to turn up at school, Becky spoke to his teacher and took action.

She told KentLive, 'It's part of growing up I think, but its his rudeness and disrespect I cannot stand.

'He didn't have a clue, and he was very embarrassed for sure, I was introduced as his mum.'

Becky, who works as a carer, said her boy's face turned bright red.

The mum of five said she thought more parents needed to take action against their children's poor behaviour.

'Today's children are getting worse by the second,' she added.

Writing on Facebook, she said she would not tolerate disrespect from her children towards their teachers.

His mummy bear has had enough for sure, my foot is down and I will not lose, she said.

Her approach has won praise from other parents who described the move as 'epic parenting.'

Alison Atkins wrote, 'Love this idea so much and I bet it works for her son now, as he knows she will keep her word.'

And Suzanne Jane said, 'Love this! I work in secondary education and would love parents to see their kids behaviours, good and bad.'

Responding to the support for her trip to school Becky said, 'If i can then every other parent can and then hopefully todays children may actually turn pleasant and respectful and then the next generations will follow suit.'
