‘I never thought this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair and that is the part that is hard to reconcile, but I just take each day as it comes.’
Meghan added, ‘I tried to adopt the British sensibility of the stiff upper lip. What that does internally is probably really damaging.’
Reflecting on her life over the last few years, Meghan said, ‘The good thing is that I have got my baby and I have got my husband and they are the best.’
In another clip on the ITV programme, Meghan can be seen fighting back tears as journalist Tom Bradby asks her how she is.
In the emotional interview, Meghan said, 'Not many people have asked if I'm okay, but it's a very real thing to be going through the scenes.
Talking about the struggles, she said, 'Look any women, especially when they're pregnant, you're really vulnerable and so that was made really challenging.
'And when you have a newborn, you know. And especially as a woman, it's a lot. So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mum or trying to be a newlywed. It's um...yeah.'
Earlier this year, reports emerged stating that Meghan was 'miserable' in her Royal role.
