Manson, who became the face of evil after his role in inciting the murders of a string of innocent victims in the LA area - including heavily pregnant actress Sharon Tate - died after apparently succumbing to gastrointestinal issues.
Manson lead a group of followers, widely referred to as the Manson Family, to indulge in an orgy of killings that he apparently hoped would spark a race war. Nine people, including Tate, were killed over a five-week period in 1969 – in crimes so cruel and shocking that they have never been forgotten since.
Manson was found guilty of conspiracy to commit the murders, and failed to ever make parole – spending the rest of his life in prison.
May his victims rest in peace.
