A man has been charged after allegedly threatening a Perth man and his two children in a tirade of racist abuse on the school run.
The 41-year-old East Cannington man is alleged to have yelled abuse at the man and his children - aged six and four - as they waited at a bus stop on Gibbs Street in the suburb on Thursday.
Surmail Singh said he had just picked up his children from Gibb Primary School when the abuse started about 3.15pm.
Mr Singh, who was on the phone at the time, ended the call to film the incident.
The man can be heard saying: “Shut your mouth curry muncher, before I put a knife in your face, do you understand”.
“Weak c**t. You need a phone, that’s what a coward you are you need a phone. You coward.”
He is then seen trying to hit Mr Singh with a stick before bringing it down on the garden rails.
Cannington Police have charged a 41-year-old with threats to injure, endanger or harm and being armed in a way that may cause fear.
He is due to appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court next month.
