A woman who has woken from a coma following a horror car crash has called for justice after finally learning she lost her husband and sister in the smash.
Oksana Berchenko was severely injured when Ukrainian heiress Alyona Zaitseva, the 20-year-old daughter of multi-millionaire Vasily Zaitsev, ploughed into pedestrians after running a red light at more than 100km/h in her Lexus.
Oksana was in a coma for six days and is still recovering in intensive care.
Now, four weeks after the tragic accident, Oksana has been informed that her husband Alexander Evteev, 27, and 22-year-old sister Diana were among six killed.
Footage of the accident, which occurred on October 18, shows Zaitseva ramming into a group of helpless pedestrians.
Zaitseva’s parents allegedly offered money as ‘compensation’ to victims and relatives of the deceased.
Zaitseva has been refused bail and faces a jail sentence of up to 10 years.
In a tearful statement read during her bail sentencing, Zaitseva said: ‘I am sorry that this situation happened and people suffered.
‘It is only this that truly concerns me now. I am hoping that the families will allow my parents to help them.’
