As we get older, many of us come to realise that acne isn’t just an affliction suffered by hormonal adolescents, the skin condition is incredibly common in adults too. According to the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology, 54 percent of women over 25 experience facial acne.

And plenty of people are experimenting with different treatments in a bid to clear their skin for good. One such example is Hilda Paz Robles. She recently took to Twitter to share the mind blowing before-and-after photos of her complexion.

According to Robles, a combination of green tea and raw honey was behind her skin’s transformation.

“I started to get acne April 2017,” Robles told Health. “I did try other home made remedies, but nothing was working.”

“I used 100% green tea with 100% raw honey,” she says. “I would drink it and use it as a face scrub.”

She also told Health that the Biore Pore Penetrating Charcoal Bar and Ponds Nourishing Moisture Cream were staples in her skincare regime.

“A lot of people don’t believe me,” Hilda told Allure. “I’m not saying it’s going to work for everybody because I tried so many different things before that, and nothing was working.”

One expert says the premise of the treatment certainly makes sense.

“Green tea is an amazing anti-inflammatory agent, so it helps treat rosacea and even acne,” dermatologist Judith Hellman has told Allure.

Research has also found honey to have antibacterial properties.
