The family of missing Melbourne mum Karen Ristevski were reduced to tears yesterday, after her remains were found in bushland north of Melbourne following an extensive seven-month investigation.
But it’s her stepson’s cryptic response to the grisly discovery that is raising eyebrows.
When asked by the Daily Mail whether he had been told anything about the body, Anthony Rickard responded saying: “What’s to tell?”
He declined to answer further questions.
This comes after the self-confessed ice addict had previously made unsubstantiated claims about his relationship with his stepmother and the conflict within the family, including attempting to sell his 'story' to A Current Affair.
Detectives from the missing person’s squad visited the Ristevski’s Avondale Heights home about 4.45pm to break the news following forensic testing of the “badly decomposed” remains that were stumbled upon by a bushwalker Monday afternoon.
Karen was found between two logs.
The body had been wedged between two fallen tree trunks at the base of Mt Macedon, about 25 kilometres from the Toolern Vale area were police had been searching for her last December.
The 47-year-old was last seen by her husband, Borce Ristevski on June 29 2016.
