A British woman whose husband tragically died after she banished him to the sofa following an argument has found love just two months later…with his brother.
After urging others to ‘kiss their loved ones goodnight’ and expressing her devastation that her last words to her husband Mikey were in anger, Ashley Murrell has moved on with her brother-in-law, Chris Murrell.
A friend of the couple told The Sun: “Chris and Ashley have been through so much but they have really been there for each other. Its strange how from something so awful, something good can happen. They are really happy together.
“They’ve had so much hate and negativity because of their relationship but them being together doesn’t change how Ashley felt about Mikey. Chris has been a huge support for Ashley and he’s great with the kids. It’s funny how these things work out.”
Just days earlier, Ashley, from Somerset, UK spoke out about how she and her late husband had argued the night before his death over how many hours he was spending working at his carpet cleaning business.
Following a 16-hour shift, the father-of-three returned home only to be banished to the sofa by Ashley.
Little did she know that he had been working so hard to save money for the couple to be able to travel to Prague for their anniversary on July 3.
“I felt so guilty. I was so angry with myself for making him sleep on the sofa. I still find it so hard to think that my last words to him were out of anger,” said Ashley.
I found out he’d been saving to take us on an anniversary holiday it was awful — heartbreaking doesn’t begin to cover it.”
The newly-in-love mum claims a post-mortem revealed Mikey choked in his sleep but that the cause behind it was “inconclusive”.
