A look at the popularity of the ubiquitous fidget spinner reveals that the toy and stress management tool is on the way out.
Published by FiveThirtyEight, the article written by Walt Hickey, explains that data from Google is revealing that interest in fidget spinners is well and truly trending down.
Hickey says that according to Google the fidget spinners first appeared in searches around May 6.
‘Then the fad made its way to internet news consumers over the next week; May 18 was the high-water mark for fidget spinner news searches,’ Hickey writes. Ever since then, however it has been on a steady decline.
‘It’s very likely that peak fidget spinner is behind us.’
