Dolores O'Riordan, the Irish musician who was the lead singer of internationally acclaimed 90s superstar band The Cranberries, has reportedly died at the age of 46.
O'Riordan publicists released a statement to the BBC, it read: 'The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time. Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.
Investigators have told PEOPLE that they are dealing with a 'sudden death' in the Westminster area of London.
A police spokesman said, 'A woman in her mid-40s was pronounced dead at the scene. At this early stage the death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries continue.'
As soon as the news was announced, social media flooded with tributes from celebrities and loyal fans alike.
