Experts have revealed a range of fashion choices that could be damaging your body.
The British Chiropractic Association have listed several styles that endanger your spine, most notably perhaps is the popular skinny jean.
The figure-hugging fashion statement can cause all sorts of troubles including poor posture and back pain.
‘They restrict free movement in areas such as the hips and knees, affecting the way we hold our bodies,’ explains BCA chiropractor Tim Hutchful according to news.com.au.
Other dangerous fashion choices include cross-body bags, and heavy necklaces as well as large hooded jackets.
‘Large hoods can mean you strain your neck in order to see, and asymmetric hemlines, especially if tight-fitting, can restrict your movement and cause you to walk differently.’
He recommends wearing these items in moderation, giving your body time to recover from the affect so it doesn’t cause ongoing problems.
‘For example, try and limit the number of times you wear skinny jeans or high heels every week so you’re giving your body a break, or try investing in a backpack for days when you have a lot to carry around.’
