But, she believes she's found the miracle cream, created by beauty brand du'it, that has solved all her skin problems.
Rachel Friend describes the brands hand creams as a 'godsend' to soothe her dry and cracked skin.
Talking to Kidspot Rachel said, 'I really liked that the cream gave me instant relief from the irritated, dry skin without that feeling of wetness and heaviness that I found other creams left.'
It wasn't until Rachel's youngest developed a bad milk rash at birth that she really started searching for the perfect product.
'We couldn't find any products to use or relieve her of the irritation,' Rachel explained.
The rash became so uncomfortable that it often left her crying but Rachel said the facial serum from du'it instantly soothed her skin and helped take out some of the redness.
The du’it range was developed by a husband and wife team, Pynith and Zina, after she noticed the struggles people were having with dry skin in her old job working in a hospital.
Zina wanted to create a product that was formulated to not just be a cream for general skin problems like dryness, but to target those with health problems like diabetes.
What started off as a project in the garage has expanded into a huge range that covers everything from hand and foot creams to face creams and a range specially targeted at babies.
Rachel joked to Kidspot that her two-year-old even has a favourite product from the range - the bubble bath because the 'bubbles last for a very long time.'
