Woman who says it's her duty to cook, clean and do laundry for her husband divides opinion

A woman who posted on Twitter that it was her duty to cook, clean and do laundry for her husband has been slammed online, while others agree that this is a woman's duty when she marries.

Brylea Langley, who's currently unmarried, posted on Twitter that when she gets married she will be dutiful to her husband.

'Call me old fashioned, but i was raised to take care of my husband make his plate every night, wash his work clothes for him, make sure he’s up for work the next morning, always have a clean house for him to come home to, etc. and that’s exactly wife i will be,' wrote Brylea.

Her post was liked almost 58,000 times but gauged mixed reactions from people who both agreed and disagreed with Brylea's way of thinking.

' I've been married 30 years. Marriage is a partnership, with give and take and mutual respect for each other, not one person catering to the other. Think about the model you’re setting for your daughters,' wrote one woman.

'The pattern is women taking care of men like they were child. it's shown everywhere like it's the normal and right thing to do,' added another.

'I'm a stay at home mom and my husband doesn't treat me like we're in the 50's. He knows he's a grown ass man who can depend on himself if I do not cook or clean on some days. He doesn't make demands. Ladies know your worth,' said one stay-at-home mum.

'Nah, it sounds like her old man will be the King of His Castle, as he should be,' added a man.

Although many of the comments were positive or constructive, Brylea later spoke out against trolls who'd sent her death threats over her comments.

'The fact that i have people telling me i deserve to be dead over this tweet is beyond me,' she said.
Hearing of her torment, people stepped in to defend Brylea's opinions.
'Pretty sure @_brylealangley is my soul twin. I’ve never even heard of another female (close to my age) that believes the same way that I do,' said one commenter.
