Body found in search for tourist who went missing after hitting his head and running off

A body has been found in the search for British tourist Aslan King who went missing after hitting his head and running into bushland. 

The 25 year old was camping with friends in Princetown, near the Twelve Apostles on the Great Ocean Road, 230 kilometres from Melbourne, when he disappeared.

He was last seen at 2am on Saturday when he and his friends were drinking at their campsite and Mr. King suffered a suspected fit or seizure, hit his head and went running into the bush.

Today a body was found around one kilometre away from where he was last seen.

British man Aslan King was on holiday in Australia when he disappeared after hitting his head.

Mr King was believed to be in Australia on holiday for two weeks and had set off on a trip along the Great Ocean Road on Friday. Since his disappearance dozens of people have been helping with the search effort. 

'Police have located the body of a man following the search for missing tourist Aslan King in the Princetown area,' said Victoria Police.

'Officers are yet to formally identify the body; however, it is believed to be Aslan King who was last seen at a camping ground on Old Coach Road about 2am on 23 November.

'The body was located about 10.15am this morning in a creek just over a kilometre from the camping ground where Aslan was last seen.   

'Investigators will prepare a report for the coroner.

'Police would like to thank the public and media for their assistance during the search.'

Investigators will now prepare a report for the coroner and Mr King's family is believed to be flying over from the UK.
