UPDATE: AirBnB host could face attempted murder charge after pushing guest down stairs
Charges may be placed after a guest at an AirBnB was pushed down a steep flight of steps by the host in a horrific video posted to Instagram.
Instagram user Zanele Muholi, an artist who runs a nonprofit advocacy group called Inkanyiso, shared the video which shows one of her crew members, Steve Nkumbi, being pushed and shoved by a man in an AirBnB in Amsterdam.
The scuffle takes place at the top of a staircase where Nkumbi is being pushed, and eventually goes headfirst down the flight of stairs, collapsing at the bottom.
In the video description Muholi writes: ‘He threw their belongings out ... for few mins late checkout.
‘She collapsed and ended up in hospital. She suffered internal injuries and bruises. Am so angry with this I couldn't even sleep.’
Nkumbi says she cannot remember anything after the scuffle, just that she woke up in hospital with a concussion and bruises all over.
Reuters report that prosecutors are considering charging the AirBnB host with attempted murder.
Speaking with MailOnline, Airbnb's David King said the video "runs counter to everything Airbnb stands for”.
"We will take the strongest actions we can against such abhorrent conduct, including banning people for life from our platform and assisting law enforcement with their investigation and potential prosecution,' he added.
“Nobody should ever be treated like this and it will not be tolerated.”
