A massive hunt is underway to search for a nine-year-old girl who went missing during a wedding on the French Alps.
Maelys de Araujo was last seen partying at the wedding reception with her family, before she suddenly vanished around 3am.
The joyous occasion suddenly turned terrifying, as guests frantically searched the surrounding areas.
Police on the scene say that sniffer dogs lost track of Maelys’ scent in the car park - prompting suspicion that she left in a car.
The search now involved 100 police, including dogs, a helicopter, and divers searching the Guiers river and dense woods nearby. Authorities are questioning over 250 guests of the wedding and nearby parties in an effort to find out more information.
Local prosecutor, Dietlind Baudoin, announced in a statement that: ’Given the time that has elapsed since the disappearance of the young Maelys and given the resources that have been sadly deployed in vain to find her, the criminal possibility can no longer be ruled out.
