When you're off on holidays, you're thinking about fun and relaxation, not worrying about what to pack. But whether it's a weekend away or a month-long trip, it pays to put a bit of thought into what you take. Frantically chucking stuff into a bag the night before could end in disaster. You don't want to realise you're going out to dinner and you've packed 10 dressy tops and one pair of tracksuit pants! The key is versatility. Pack things than can double as daywear and nightwear. Take a dress A dress can take you from the beach to a nice dinner. My favourite pick is a plain-coloured maxi. It can be worn over swimmers or teamed with nice flats and earrings if you're going out. Dressy sandals or flats There's no point taking heels just in case you go somewhere upmarket. Instead, take a dressy pair of sandals that look equally as good with cargo shorts as the dress you packed. Go for black, silver or gold, jewel detail or a small wedge if you still want some height. Crushable clothing I've got a few items made of crushed-look fabric and they're a traveller's dream. They never need ironing and actually look better crushed! Simply scrunch up and pack. For a gorgeous range of crushed fabric items, check out www.ts14plus.com.au. Accessories I'm no Kim Kardashian. You won't find me poolside in full make-up, stilettos and plenty of bling. But I do pack a few pieces of jewellery that go with a dress, or even jeans and a singlet. Some colourful beads and a pair of dangly earrings do the job perfectly.
