| With summer just around the corner, we show you how sun smart your kids can be. |

Ensuring your child is sun safe is even more important in the hotter months. Sunburn can occur in as little as 15 minutes on a sunny summer's day. Here's some tips to make sure you've got things covered. - Apply sunscreen 20 minutes before going outside, and reapply every two hours or more often if it has been wiped or washed off.
- Ensure your child wears a rashie when they're at the beach or pool.
- When outside, make use of shade or create your own by using material to cover a pram or play area.
- Make sure your child is properly shaded when they're in the car.
- When outdoors, cover up as much as possible with loose-fitting clothes and wraps with a close weave.
- Minimise time outdoors between 10am and 3pm. Top it off with a broad-brimmed, bucket or legionnaire hat to shade face, neck and ears.
