Enjoy a different take with these Asian Pork Spare Ribs that are sure to satisfy those taste buds.


10 min prep, 3 hr 20 min cook




  • 12 pork ribs, halved
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoi sin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine or white vinegar
  • finely grated zest and juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 500g Asian greens, trimmed and chopped


1. Place pork ribs into the base of the slow cooker insert. Combine sugar, sauces, vinegar, lime zest and juice, grated ginger and garlic in a small bowl and pour over ribs.

2. Cover the slow cooker and cook on high 3 hr (low 6 hr) or until pork is tender. Then turn slow cooker to high.

3. Rinse greens and place over the pork, cover and cook for a further 15-20 min or until greens are wilted. Serve ribs with rice and prepared Asian greens. Garnish with coriander if desired.
