Soft-centred, crispy, milo-malt biscuits that will be a hit with children and adults alike!

  • 125g BUTTER, softened
  • ½ cup CASTER SUGAR
  • ½ cup BROWN SUGAR
  • 1 teaspoon VANILLA ESSENCE
  • 1 EGG
  • 1¾ cups SELF-RAISING FLOUR, sifted
  • ½ cup Nestle MILO
  • (optional) ¼ cup MILO CEREAL, roughly chopped
  • OR (optional) 1 MILO CHOCOLATE BAR, roughly chopped


  1. Preheat oven to 180*C. Grease and flour oven trays.
  2. Beat butter, sugars and vanilla in a large bowl with an electric mixer on high speed until mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Add egg and beat until combined.
  4. Fold in flour and Milo.
  5. Add Milo cereal pieces or Milo chocolate bar pieces, if desired.
  6. Roll heaped teaspoons of mixture into balls and place on oven trays, about 4cm apart.
  7. Flatten slightly with a fork. If you find the fork sticks to the biscuits, heat the fork in a glass of hot water and dry with paper towel before flattening.
  8. Bake for 6-7 minutes, for soft biscuits, or for 8-10 minutes for a slightly crispier finish.
  9. Transfer biscuits to wire racks and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  10. Serve warm or cooled with your favourite drink for a delicious afternoon tea!

NOTE: Makes approximately 40 biscuits.
